Details

We’re looking to publish a book for a good cause—shoes for the needy. All poems must be a traditional haiku with 3 lines total with the first being 5 syllables, the second line 7 syllables, and the last line 5 syllables. The theme is open to any subject, as long as the poems are family appropriate.

Acting Title: Haikus for Shoes

Deadline: OPEN

Genre: Poetry, haiku

Length: 3 lines exactly (5, 7, 5 syllables)

Theme: No strict regulations as long as the poems are family appropriate.

Payment: PDF copy.

  • Single spaced and Times New Roman/12 point font
  • Unpublished poems only
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be a US citizen

We’re looking to publish a fun, educational book about the bones of the body. There are 206 bones in an adult human—we want 206 poem. One bone per poem! Try to write about the bones that aren’t so commonly talked about and check out our competitions page where we’ll host contests for this anthology!

Acting Title: The Skeletal System

Deadline: OPEN

Length: Minimum 3 lines, Maximum 25 lines

Genre: Poetry (accepting all forms: free verse, haiku, acrostic, erasure, concrete, sonnet, ode, etc.)

Theme: Bones.

Payment: One print copy.

Guidelines and Requirements

  • Title poems with the name of the bone your poem is about
  • Submit up to 5 poems (unlimited contest pieces)
  • Single spaced and Times New Roman/12 point font
  • Unpublished poems only
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be a US citizen

*At least half of the proceeds made from this anthology will be donated annually to related organizations.

Acting Title: The Kitchen Garden

Genre: Cookbook that consists of homestead recipes, including canning, breads, medicines, etc.

Payment: One print copy.

Guidelines and Requirements

  • 50% of the ingredients must be from your garden/farm/ranch/homestead
  • Include a list of ingredients, measurements, and instructions
  • Include a homestead bio of about 100 words
  • Include a picture of your finished recipe/product
  • Include pictures of your homestead (optional)
  • Unlimited entries
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be a US citizen
